I'm looking forward to the spring!

Today I worked with my embroidery machine. For this purpose I loaded a nice spring freebie from here.

It is stitched on water-soluble fleece.

That's after embroidering, still in the frame.

Now cut roughly:

Spraying lukewarm water on it and deping with a rest of the fleece. Now the bird just has to get dry:

Finally damping with an iron an hang it in a window or a easterbranch.

Shawl Pavone

I have started a shawl:

I have chosen a wonderful material.

filo di lana cashmere: an extra fine lace yarn from Italy, that I can twist for you 1 ply, 2 ply, 3 ply or 4 ply. The 1 ply wools yarn length is 1400m/100g!
The wool is also convinient for machine knitting.

From now on it is available as from 25 g.

After washing it is very fleecy and soft.

Care: handwashing at 30° C

Let's start!

The video shows how to begin

The woolen hat is knitted from the top. Due to this kind of knitting you can try and check every time whether the cap fits. The pattern repeat has 20 stitches. In the video, it is knitted 5 times. But you can also knit the pattern 4 times if you don't need so many stitches.

I've started with 10 stitches, knit one, yarn over, knit one, yarn over... until you have finished the row.

Then knit one, knit one through back of loop, knit one, knit one through back of loop... Now you have 20 stitches.

Again, knit one, yarn over, knit one... until you have finished the row.

Then knit one, knit one through back of loop, knit one, knit one through back of loop... Now you have 40 stitches.

Now take the stitch marker:

Knit 8, yarn over, stitch marker, continue until you have reached the end of the row.
Then knit 8, knit one through back of loop, knit 8, knit one through back of loop... When you have finished, you should have 45 stitches

Now:

Knit 9, yarn over, stitch marker, knit 9, yarn over, stitch marker... Now you have 50 stitches.

Go on until you have 60 stitches. Then continue with a 3.5mm double point needle set until you have 100 stitches.

Woollen hat Natale

On 14th January, 2013 a new KAL will start:

It is knitted with 100 g filo di lana Australien Merino Klassik for women and 150 g filo di lana Australien Merino Extra for men. (But it also depends on your head and which kind of hats you prefer)

The wool is wonderful soft and of course 100% new wool. It is a pleasure to knit with this wool.

Chistosocks

Pattern

Chisto Socks

An easy pattern with twisted and purl stiches.
You can find the pattern here.
It's just the pattern for the leg.

I've knitted a heel, which is suitable for people with a high instep.

The socks have strengthening at the heel. I've worked a moss stitch into the gusset, so it is easy to count the rows.

I've knitted with filo di lana sockwool which is very hard-wearing and machine-washable (with a detergent for woollens) and 2.5mm needles.

Here you can see my finished socks:

Every row has to be knitted two times
"Rechts verschränkte Masche" = knit one through back of loop
"Linke Masche" = purl stitch
